About Callista

Callista is EPFL's amateur-astronomy association, run by students. A brief look in our album gives you an accurate idea of our activities; those are mainly concentrated on observations, and, from time to time, little seminars.

Some observations take place directly at the EPFL (Planets, Moon, Sun) others from the near countryside (for example, the Jura region in the east of Lausanne, not far away). The club's instruments include a Celestron C8 and a TeleVue TV-76. Notice that you don't need to be an amateur-astronomer to join us, nor possess your own telescope ! Everybody interested in astronomy is welcome !

The club is quite small, but we do speek at least English and German. Callista is open to all people from the EPFL-UNIL campus. The ridiculous annual cotisation is of twenty Swiss francs.

How to join us ?

Nothing easier : send us a small e-mail to callista@epfl.ch, and we'll put your address on our internal mailing-list. All our activities are organised through this mailing-list : you'll know when and where to come.
See you soon !
